These paintings were inspired by landscapes in the north and west of Scotland, including the Isle of Colonsay in the Inner Hebrides, Arisaig in the West Highlands, Bettyhill on the north coast of Sutherland, Stroma in the Pentland Firth, and Galloway in south west Scotland.
